    Wow! I reduced the hot end temp to 195. Reduced layers to .175, first layer at .2, bottom and top layer thickness to 1.2 and My Robo is printing very well now. To my standards anyway., and it didn't slow down my print speed that much.

    I'll say it again. What a great printer for a new guy like me.

    The fan duct was printed after the adjustments.

    The smaller comm badge on the right was printed after the adjustments. The bigger one before.

    The lightsabers were printed before the adjustments. I re-printed a couple pieces and they're coming out a lot cleaner.

    nice job! I'm glad to see its going well for you! Now dont forget to print spare parts for your machine ! You'll be sorry if you dont :D. Also might want to consider getting a spare part or two every now and again so you arnt down and waiting on them to come in :D.

    Yes. I need to print out a couple of those Y axis cable tensioners. What other parts would you suggest?

    I printed the Y axis belt tensioners. Are those used for the R1+ also?

    Is this the correct gear set for the R1+?

    Pretty much any gear set for the Greg's Wade Extruder will work, the herringbone gear set (which you've shown) runs quieter than straight cut gears and also minimizes backlash too.

    Just calibrate the extruder after you install the gear set and you will be golden.
    I have one running the standard gear set and another with the herringbone style.

    Man, I had a piece of PLA break off and get stuck in the extruder. I was able to feed some more in and finally get it to push through. I got lucky. For some reason the PLA I've been using has become very brittle.

    Old. OK, technically "wet" (it has sucked moisture out of the air)

    PLA does that when it gets wet. :)

    I'm in Houston Texas. Humidity is a problem. I'm almost done with this spool. Would a dehumidifier help in my printer room?

    The simplest way is to keep the filament spools stored (in bag or sealed box) with desiccant when not actively in use.

    I live in Central Florida... we ARE the swap and humidity is a constant (as in high) so I just live with it.

    dont know how much its worth but I run a dehumidifier at both the shop print lab and at home. Then when I store the spools I use resealable baggies with desicant or my new favorite toy...a foodsaver with desicant lol. Works well. If it does wet like yours toss it in a sealed bag or cantainer with a bunch of desicant for a few days and it should be good.

    You can always dry the spools in an oven.

    Yea, caution is advised there :) We have done that (even bought a small convection over just for that) and great care is advised for finding the correct temperature and time.

    I'm not sure I'm that concerned about a $20.00 spool of PLA. I'm about to switch over to a new one anyway. I like the baggy with a desicant in it idea.

    As long as you get the quick-release plate as well, and follow the installation instructions linked in that store listing, sure.

    I just ordered the XXL LCD with the discount code "nerdgasm" it is just as cheap to order them separately. I'll get the E3D down the road.
