Are you loading the gcode of the model or the stl file?

It's a simple and obvious thing but I found I was chasing settings once with no results only to discover I had been loading the gcode instead of the stl. Something to check.

When I export from Matter control or Cura. I am exporting the Gcode. In Cura I just hit that little export button up at the top.

I'm back to printing "Ok" last night. One thing is I had the first layer height set too high. Apparently Cura wont do a brim or raft if the first layer height is set above 1.3. Still having a bit of adhesion problems. My Z off set is set at -.90. I bet some fine tuning there would help.

Z hop has been increased to .2mm that seems to have solved my problem with the hotend striking the model.

I also reduced layer height to .150 and slowed my printing down to 40

I know I sound frustrated sometimes (and I guess I am), but I'm enjoying the challenge and learning more and more each day.

You guys have been more help than you know. Thank you!

I'm printing pretty good now. and getting some consistencies. :)

My wife is placing an order from Aliexpress and asked if I wanted to throw some stuff in the cart. I do! but I'm not sure what.

Should I order a E3d V6 from there or am I just going to end up with a clone?

What nozzles will fit with the stock extruder on the Robo R1+?

    A new heat bed?

Just trying to think of stuff I might need down the road.

If you order it from China it will be a clone.

If you are going to buy parts there these will fit:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3D-...d-nozzle-0-3-0-4mm-for-1-75mm/1849300051.html

I have not 'experimented' with nozzles (or hotends) from China, the electronics boards (RAMPS, Arduino, LCD screens, etc.) absolutely. Made there anyway so cut-out some of the middlemen :)

For hotends and nozzles I usually go with the manufacturer (E3D or an approved re-seller like our very own @Printed Solid at http://www.printedsolid,com)

Nozzles are generic enough that you probably would not have an issue.

If you are looking for spares, get the Monoprice Maker Select Mini for $200 and have a whole other printer to make spares for the Robo if something breaks while you use it.

Having a spare printer -- or several :) -- is actually not a bad thing and there are smaller, cheaper ones out there that can certainly do a fine job of printing spare bits. Our first non-Robo was a DLP we built and the next was a 4.5' tall Delta.

Spare printer aside you really do want to print some spare parts (like the Y axis belt clips) and you can find most of them on Thingiverse.

I'm mostly wanting another Robo owner to get one and do a Print-Off comparing print quality with similar settings.

I've printed two sets of Y axis belt clips and a herringbone gear set. Of course the risers and fan duct/shroud. So far. I bought another 40mm fan today and want to install a second cooling fan. My bridging and overhangs are great in the back but not so great in the front. Anything else you can think of?

I've heard the Monoprice Maker Select Mini mention a bit. I am looking at a second smaller printer. I was also looking at the
FLSUN 3D METAL FRAME PRUSA I3 DIY KIT

    https://www.3dprintersonlinestore.com/flsun-3d-metal-frame-prusa-i3-diy-kit

It comes with a LCD in the kit and some other extras at $220.00

    Thanks

    I'm game Daniel871.

Edit: Oh I think you meant with a Monoprice printer. Maybe in the near future.

I want to install a second cooling fan and duct. Is it ok to splice it right off of the other one?

    Sure.

Unless you are talking a fan to cool your room, you are good.

LOL. but I do have a little desk fan blow on the front of it now. I think with a second 40mm fan my bridging/overhangs will be awesome.

Continuing on with part printing I was hunting for a file for the stock carriage. All I can seem to find is the one for the E3D V6 upgrade. Is there one out there for the stock carriage?

    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1411833

    Robo 3D R1 Full Carriage / extruder assembly for E3D V6 and Hex(Screwless)

Curtis that one you linked to has a file specifically for the Hexagon too.
