    Hi guys,

my printer has been sitting there unused for about two months now, its a robo 3d r1+ and today i wanted to turn it on to print a house, when the printer starts to print the first layer of the house, which is a blank square it would go until it finished about the middle of the layer then the extruder would stop extruding ! and the head would keep moving as if its normally printing, by extruder stops extruder i mean even the gear on the side of the head stops spinning, i tried to restart the print again but the same thing happened, i hope this is not a big problem, what can i do ?

i use PLA for filament and the newest update of the Mattercontrol slicer.

    thanl you

Look through the GCode terminal for any errors (you can copy/paste the entire terminal log into notepad and search for the word "error")

Paste those in here or search the forums once you have the error message.

i opened the gcode in this website: http://gcode.ws/ and used the find tool in google chrome and searched for the word error, 0 results.

I don't want the GCode, I want the GCode terminal output that the printer and the software driving the printer use. The Gcode you posted is for a model... I want the communications between your software and the printer.

Instructions are here for mattercontrol (I don't use it myself) on how to open the GCode terminal:

    http://wiki.mattercontrol.com/OPTIONS/G-Code_Terminal

Let it fail and then save the entire terminal contents.

oh, the errors happen when i print from the memory card not from t he computer directly.
i also need to mentioned that it happened to me once, i reprinted and it went fine, i moved to another model and it did the error two times in row

Then we can't help you if we do not have the error.

Only suggestion is to try a new SD card or reformat the old one.

When you use the LCD only there is not way to trap the actual errors for troubleshooting.

Sounds good. Remember M999 is NOT the actual error, look further back for that.

i just tried with the memory again and it did it, seems like a memory card problem somehow, or a problem with the gcode sent to the memory

    <shrug>
Bad Sd cards happen, not often, but they do.
Try another one or at least reformat that one.

There is not much you can extract in terms of diagnostic data when you print only from the SD card.
You can launch the print from the SD card via the host program (whatever you are using) on the PC and see if that causes the error.
That way you are printing the GCode from the SD card, but still connected from the PC.

At least then you would have a GCode terminal to catch errors.
