In fact, if memory serves, @Mike Kelly had done a conversion for the beta to autoleveling that used both Z switches to trigger for a 'HOME' indication rather than one. In that case this would be a huge plus... I used the stock arrangement when I converted my betas to use autoleveling so that they would better replicate any issues with the stock machines.

Not sure, they are still messing around with the release candidate.
You can use the RC version that is out there now, I have just decided to wait a little longer :)
    They can finish 1.10 up.

    That's the one.

    Printing the counter weight now.

    How many pennies? 75?

    Heck I didn't count :)
I have mine mounted on one of the R1+ clones, I will give it a test and see how it works.

I don't expect earth shattering differences, but I may have to adjust the Z offset.

You mean you don't expect prints to start coming out as if sculpted by Michelangelo himself?

75 pennies. Mark, can't you just simplify the design to use three quarters? :)

LOL..I got it. I'm 73% through a baby Groot print with it installed. No adjustments made. First layer went down about the same. Which I had going down pretty good anyway.

Ok, On my second print with the counter weight installed. I had some stuttering as the head hit the X end stop during home positionoing. I'm pretty sure it's the wires hitting the counter weight. They aren't as tight and hang out some because I was messing with the plug for the extruder stepper the night before. I need to zip tie them close to the print head.

Wow, this got a lot of attention!

First, you don't need to change the model unless you want to add more mass. Just add fewer pennies. Since I am still rebuilding my robo, I haven't actually massed each side equally, so I've just dumped all the pennies in that I can.

@WheresWaldo , I don't mind sharing this for modification. I'm using Fusion 360. How do I export into whatever the preferred format is?

The nice thing about this is I have my robo set up to treat each z stepper and z axis trigger independently, so it can balance out the X axis cleanly.

ninja edit: I figured out STEP exporting. It was right in front of me. Attached is the counterweight as I uploaded. Do whatever you want with it. Just cite my design as the original version, please.

Thanks @Sean Carson I didn't mean for you to put it here, just add it to your published file on Thingiverse. All I wanted to do was shorten the stacks since I don't need 75 pennies. Now that I know you use Fusion 360 we could share files in it's native format, either locally or on Autodesk Fusion 360 online library.

Uploaded. After having reassembled the printer, I think there my not be enough mass in there to match the stock stepper on the opposite side. I'm printing out a my chain links now. I'll tear it down again tonight and mass it properly. If I find a significant difference, I'll upload a modified design.

Is the customizer easy to set up? It looks a bit intimidating.

    You mean Thingiverse Customizer?

If you want to use it you have to build your model in OpenSCAD.

I thought it was the wires but it's the extruder stepper that is just barely striking the counterweight. Not allowing the screw to depress the X axis end stop switch all the way.

    Installing a slightly longer screw

    ...and we're good. :)
