What material to print with?

    So, let's say you had a part to print which was going to be under a fair amount of shock repeatedly, yet required high reliability and tolerances. This part is usually made out of metal, however more and more are being made from non-metal materials.

    Based on the available printable filaments, what you you recommend?

    Nylon, but i think it flexes a bit, so probably ABS.

    It depends on what the function of the part is.... Does in need to be rigid? It's between Nylon and ABS. Nylon tougher and more heat resistant... ABS more rigid....

    It would have metal parts attached to it, would have to endure some heat transfer at the same time as the shock impact.

    I wonder if limonene has any reaction with nylon like it does HIPS? ABS is safe with it. I am really looking into dual extrusion with HIPS which dissolves in limonene.

    Keep us up-to-date on your duel extruder plans. I would be interested to see how it works out. Would be very usefull to be able to print dissolvable supports.
