Selling on here ins't a problem, but if I'm going to buy a broken R1+ (can get refurbed for 400.00, less at times) the offer would be 150.00 shipped. DM me if that interests you. On Ebay or craigslist you might be able to get closer to what you paid but remember in the world of 3D printing...used machines are VERY cheap. They only hold value when new

What kills me is that when Facebook Martketplace, Ebay and other similar sites exist, who would actually contact someone at randomemail@domain.ext ?

On the aforementioned FB Marketplace, there are six 3d printers for less than $400 for sale right now, all of them better machines than the R1 on paper by other manufacturers. As you said, they're USED so the going price is hilariously low because when you buy used you get zero warranty/support.

I abused mine (well, it's the company's but it's in my office and I'm the only one that knows how to turn it on, so...) and, thanks to the awesome ROBO forums, it prints again.

But, from a marketing point of view, "Robo R1 is Horrible" may not be the best of headlines.

Considering the i3 prusa, DaVinci 1.0, and Rostock Max I used to own, Great is a perfect word to describe my Robo.

those types of descriptions are hard to me to put on any printer :D. Robo is a good printer for me, but I have better and I have worse lol. Most machines are...lets say use case specific?

I would ass/u/me () anyone using an adjective to describe something is based on their view, which to me is ipso facto case specific.....I'm just throwing words out there today...lol

I own the v3, was fun to assemble far less so to troubleshoot -- we had it extended to 5' tall (over 3 feet of actual build space).
It *mostly* prints what it is told these days after a lot of fudging and an E3D upgrade.

Their support was a joke although the forums were somewhat helpful and it cost a LOT more than the Robo (more than double).
I finally sorted out most of it :) Still needs a little fine tuning.

I bought the v1 in 2013. Took me about 2 months to put together. It was my very first printer to buy and I wanted to build it and learn on the Fly. Like you said, support was bad and cost almost double what the robo did for their first version. It was problems from the word go and I never really got it working the way it should have.

R1+ though has been near plug and play as you can get with a printer. Price to build size is top 5 imo

I told my son (after we got it working) that is was a good that that was not our first printer (or it likely would have been the last)
Even the problems we had with the early Robo beta and lack of support there was a pittance compared to the delta.
