Answered NinjaFlex filament gets jammed when loading

    Trying to load 1.75mm ninja flex filament. When I go to load it in the c2 it gets wrapped around the gear. any advice? The regular filament feeds fine.

    The extruder on the C2 is different, but you still have the same issue of flexible unsupported filament between the feed gear and the hotend. There is LESS unsupported space in the C2 extruder, but there still is some. There is no easy way to add a PTFE support tube either (unlike the R1/R1+)... I guess you could dismantle the extruder and get a small one in there. Tough to do though.

    I would suggest you try slowing WAY, WAY DOWN on print speeds and see if that doesn't help (15mm/sec or less).


    EDIT: If I get a chance I will test NinjaFlex on my C2 this weekend.

    Semiflex or generic TPU might do ok, but yeah, Ninjaflex is going to be too flexible for any extruder with a gap between the drive gear and hotend path.

    Bingo. Even on a printer that does work with the NinjaFlex I can't find a use for it that SemiFlex will not work for and while still needing some tweaks SemiFlex is much easier to print with.

    Yes, those a better for flexibles. So is teh E3D Titan from what I hear.
    The one you linked at least looks sized so that it could be worked into the Robo C2 head. Although you should probably try using a PTFE tube the way they are using the support tube and see if that can be made to work.

    Titan and Aero both love Flexible filaments.

    I agree those are the top end, I am not sure those can be fit onto the C2. I am sure they COULD be with a redesign of the hotend carriage, but worth it? Eh... probably not.

    If I get my hands on a C2....my plan is E3DV6 bowden with a titan (same for the R2 really lol). Then running whatever isn't an issue :D but yes, other than that the extruder would just plain be in the way

    You COULD do an E3D I am convinced and only with minor modifications.

    Likewise a bowden conversion of the primary extruder would be an easy change. Not sure it buys you a lot given the size/design of the carriage, but it would be interesting nonetheless. :)

    The R2 -- yea if it is not full-on bowden out of the box I imagine that one would see some benefit from that change.

    Maybe they'll shoot me on to write up the upgrades and modifications for everyone. (titan wont gain anything I dont think, other than the ability to run flexibles through a bowden without issue) but the V6 is superior to the hexagon :D win/win

    I have the Titan on my Deltaprintr and love it. I have printed flexible filament (Sainsmart Flexible TPU_ with it, though I agree with the advice to drop the speed way down. I also used a .8mm nozzle.

    Haven't tried the C2 yet. How would one approach adding a Titan to that?

    I dont have one to do it to, but you'd need to make the hexagon bowden or add a V6 and design a mounting system and run bowden. Should have a fairly easy time mounting the extruder under the runout switch, but like I said, I dont have one to do this to.

    If you did this it would be reworking the extruder carriage. I don't think you could just adapt it to the one that is there. No room. The C2 uses a much smaller direct extruder -- 1/3 the size of the GregsWade (if not even smaller)
