Ugh. I hate that I'm starting to regret backing the R2. My R1+ has been great since day 1....

Now I can't even print. It keeps wanting to start my print (after leveling, before the nozzle cleaning line), no matter the source, beyond its normal perimeters.

I got the (R2 provided) clips to print and now it's doing this.

    Items and sources attempted:
    - R2 test print - provided on my R2
    - Misc STL sliced in Cura, saved to USB & transferred to R2
    - Misc STL sliced on R2 & transferred to R2
    - Lawn gnome - provided on my R2

Offhand, without benefit of photos, sounds like a slicer setup / start code issue.

I assume it homes OK and X&Y move the correct distance when directed via the R2 LCD menu?

    Yes, it homes just fine.

If you notice the different sources of Gcode, this isn't from one specific file or program. It does this with the preloaded files, as well as externally sliced files.

Side note: I can't even connect to Curo/Octoprint or the Robo iPhone app, even though they are all on the same network.

I don't have three posts to the forum, so it won't let me post my video.

Can you re-print the R2 provided clips file OK? Or is it not now working?

I will check tomorrow afternoon. I am so frustrated that I had to walk away for the evening. 2+ weeks and it has been one thing, then another.

Sadly this is the way of 3D printing. Hang in there and we can hopefully get you going.

The new Robos were advertised as "the only 3D printers engineered for effortless making", though.

Ive learned quickly that "effortless printing" is not something 3d printers have yet. Is it homing correctly? And was it printing fine before?

Don't confuse advertising with marketing :) Also don't confuse marketing with reality (which is really more their problem).

All that aside when they survive shipment 100% intact they are really easy to pick up and use machines. That is a huge "when" though. Of all the printers I have ever used the C2 was the easiest (by far) to turn on and get printing (once I repaired the shipping damage).

Despite what folks would like you to believe we are not to the point where printers are always going to be plug-in and print. I do think these are close, but again they take such abuse when getting shipped that it is hard to deliver on that promise.

I shut it down last night and left it. On a whim this morning, I tried it one more time. I kid you not, it started printing normally WITH THE SAME FILES that wouldn't print last night.

Sounds like something mechanical has sorted itself. For example an endstop has started working. The sorts of behaviors it had were really more along those lines anyway. You might want to take a close look at all of the endstops and make sure they are clear and can be reached without blockage.

A couple of mine (X and Z) were misaligned from the shipment and needed to be adjusted back into place (the RODs were misaligned -- not the switch itself)

So it's possible that my axis were out of whack? I adjusted them this afternoon, after print #2. I don't know.

It printed fine this morning and this afternoon. I didn't even have to shut down and restart the printer. I'm also printing directly from the USB and not transferring my Cura-prepped gcode to the printer. I'll test it the other way (file transferred to R2) when my first 24+ hour print completes.

I'm going to mark this as solved.
