Hey, guys... this is my first post here on the forum, and tonight I have become a proud owner of a Robo3d C2 printer. My reasoning for getting into 3D printing was because of the awesome work I have seen from other people and of course I wanted in. I am 3D artist/indie game dev and just wanted to have something for fun to do to get off the computer and get my work realised in the real world.

Unfortunately, my LCD is busted so I can't really do much. So, I hope to get a replacement printer or screen somehow and get myself up and running.

Hi there welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you've got a RMA with amazon and getting a new unit! That is the best way (less headache/heartbreak) hang in there! You'll be up and printing in no time!

My wife would disagree (but just between you and I -- she is wrong).

I might set the precedent for amounts of spools on hand...but when the lady wants a specific color...she gets it ;) lol

    Need ALL the colors!

I admit, I probably have a lot more filament than I actually *need* as such, but it's really nice to just be able to pop and swap for whatever color you feel works best for a given model.

Plus, there's the awesome factor of the glow-in-the-dark filament.
...and there's that really nice deep cobalt blue.
    ...and the translucent cinnamon-candy red.
...and the matte yellow that's good for less rigid prints.
    ...and the day-glow green.
    ...and, and, and.....

Amen to that... and that 1 year Fusion 360 is beast... but I am sending my printer back to amazon... would it be petty if I put a picture of a Sad Panda in the Box?

@KRGraphicsCG Fusion 360 is already free to all educators and hobbyists and even to people just starting a business (<$100K Total Sales Volume). The one year free is more marketing than anything else.

Good to know. I have so many ways to build models is ridiculous. Nowadays I use ZBrush to create the complicated ones. Like rings, and weapons.

And I also fired up Cura last night, and started using the advanced settings

@KRGraphicsCG a word of caution when using z brush to make 3D Printable models- make sure you make them printable! Supports are a real....nightmare at times. :D Dont model yourself into a corner.

    That's a good one!

I won't. I also need to get MeshMixer which I heard is great for making supports. So far, I've brought my maker coin into Cura and it looks pretty good. I'll be able to export my models directly from ZBrush at the size I want

But I'm sending my printer back to Amazon, and buying it again.

After my one-year Autodesk Fusion 360 runs out I'll have my girlfriend sign up for a three-year student version. :D
