    Keep.backups.of.everything. Backup all the things.

What about the tevo wiring was improper? I’m genuinely curious.

I thought the cr-10 was hype though I will say my robo stays around 60 on the bed. I had melty control board syndrome before and don’t want to risk that again.

I keep hearing about a corexy called the Voron that’s supposed to be pretty good over on reddit. Any experience with that? How is it different from other corexy bots?

I dont do any core XY. They are just to full of "tinker with this" "tweak that" repeat, wash, rinse repeat lol. I use gantry and cartesian machines only. (I have one delta but it just looks pretty in a corner).

The 3 machines I played with - 1st machine- power switch literally did nothing...to power off you had to unplug...one day I plugged in and the smoke rollllleeeeeeddddd lol.

2nd machine- power supply had no wires grounding anything...literally none. (QA issues I'm sure but come on)

3rd machine- the wires from the heatbed and hotend were seriously undersized and at 75C started smoking.

there wont be a 4th :D now I buy reputable machines and very much research :D

I can’t afford reputable. That’s why I own a robo. I have made a deal with myself that if I get all my summer stuff done before next semester, I will allow myself to spend $1000 on something for me that I don’t actually need. That’s looking like a printer.

It’s not ultimaker level money but I’m sure there’s something nice there.

In defense of the first printer, maybe ignoring a bad power button was a bad idea.

Their service advised to do that until they could "ship me" a new one that never shipped lol

There are plenty of reputable machines under 1k :D . Prusa MK2, Robo (frankly my 2 robos run great), CR10 is decent and with a 1k budget you could upgrade it to be a great machine. There are more sub 1k machines than 3k machines almost lol

I just don’t want the best $1k can buy if it means it has a build volume of 4 sq inches.

The ultimaker style gantry is really interesting. Do any other machines do that?

This is where the Robo first started with their market share -- they had a huge build volume for the price.

The R2 and C2 are gantry, however in that price range it is C2 only and a small build area :)

    Ultimaker
    Zortrax
    Type A
    Sigma
    Ditto Pro (no heatbed)
    Wanaho (one of them?)
    RoboR2/C2

its a very long list but I'm unsure how many other than the monoprice or wanaho are sub 1k. I stick with the top 4 on the list above.

extremely. I only paid for one machine...was refunded the money at the end of all that and was told it would cost to much to send the machines back LOL. Worthless company IMO. They basically gave up after their 3rd bad one.

After three machines, they probably thought you were scamming them.

    The sigma was over 9000!
