    Hi,

Anyone have any experience printing with 3D Solutech Glow in the Dark Filament? I've tried using it at 190 and I was getting the "clicking" sound from the extruder. I turned the temp up to 210, left it unattended, and the next day I found that it printed the first 20-40 layers very well and and then after that it seemed like the layers weren't fusing and things got messy and then it terminated. Any advice would be appreciated, I'm new at this.

Hello, I don't have experience with the Solutech, but I have used the Hatchbox glow in the dark PLA with no problems.

Its not really "glowing" in my photo, there is a battery powered tea light inside, but this printed without any problems on my Robo R2 with the Hatchbox glow in the dark, using the default settings.

Hard telling whats causing your issues, but heat and cooling would be the first thoughts. In reality though glow in the dark is quite abrasive and most abrasive filament can microclog fairly easily depending on the size of the material they added. SO! First thing, up your temp some more and watch your print to see whats happening (likely your clicking is back) 2nd order a E3DV6 compatible hardened steel nozzle so you can run abrasives and the such without worrying about half a spool eating your brass nozzle (I'd suggest a .5 or .6, read up on woodfills and steelfills and you'll see they recommend at least a .5, I typically run a .6 or .8)

OK, I finally think I have the settings dialed in for this filament, and I though I would share them here in case anyone else wants to use it. It took me the better part of a day, but I finally got a pretty decent print of a 3D Benchy at 100% scale.

I have to mention that I discovered 95% of my problems with this filament were a result of it getting bound up in the spool and preventing flow. For some reason I could not get it to work in the spool holder so I just had to unwind a bunch of filament and let it hang freely from a book case and I watched it as it printed.

    -I used a .4mm plated nozzle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MF7AE1M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    -Layer Height: 0.15
    -Line Width: 0.48
    -Temperature: 205
    -Build Plate Temp: 50
    -Filament Diameter: 1.734
    -Flow: 94
-Retraction on, distance 1mm, speed 40
    -Print speed 50, Top/Bottom Speed 30, Travel 100, Initial layer 20
    -Cooling: 100%

If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.
