The magnetic base has some cut outs in the corners. I think I read somewhere that they’re supposed to accommodate clips for beds on other printers. The steel plate that the buildtak sticks on is square, and it fits nicely within the bed. There shouldn’t be any exposed adhesive.

I got a spare plate, some buildtak replacement sheets, and just for S&G got a PEI sheet, which I just stuck onto the spare plate.

Just started my first print on PEI in the R2, and so far, looking very good.
