I've had my printer since october and have put uncountable hours on it. Of course I have a big box of failed prints, but when you're making complex prototypes that's bound to happen.

It's been working great for me but it was missing something... Another extruder. Well that was a long process to design and implement but it's finally almost here...

    Anyways here's my shop:

I guarantee you it's only this clean for about 30 seconds at a time.

Robo and my filament distributor and storage.

I wish I could share some of my better prints, but not till our product hits the market. For now here's a teaser of the current shape of my robo. I'll post a thread about it soon once I have more to share.

Thanks :) I like it, except it can get really cold out there since there's no heat.

Has if tested if it has worked? Are you going to put something like a brush or draft excluder over the hole in the top of the case?

Mike, Very nice. I have been very warily doing something like this with some cardboard for my ABS prints and it makes a big difference. Without the box and too much of a draft and I can hear the sickening crack of sections of the ABS popping off the glass. I get smoother sides and possibly better layer adhesion. I have some scrap Plexiglas for a box just like this. Do you have a laser cutter or good friend with one?

We need to watch our backs or Stratasys may come knocking with lawyers. At least if we use our printers for commercial purposes within the next six years (June 23rd 2020). http://www.google.com/patents/US6722872 .

    Very Nice :)
So the back section has slots so it can easily be lifted off?
The front hinges, does it stay up?
Please let us know what temperature it holds the space at. (You got a thermometer, could tape one on the inside)

I was trying to do some PLA prints last night with a 40C hbp. I noticed it raised the internal components to around 35C. Once I get the printer height calibrated I'll try and ABS print and see how much the hbp raises the temp at 100C.

If I still have heat issues I have that space heater ready to be plumbed in. Though I'd like to get a thermostat controller for it first.

My brother-in-law lives with us for grad school. He has access to the one in the school. He did a pretty good job on the cut, a few mistakes but it works.

Yup the back section is lifted out since it'll be under my cabinet and I didn't have a lot of height to play with.

The front does hinge. It's a steel piano hinge so I can put high powered batteries for holding it up. I'm worried though cause it ended up weighing more than I expected.

The biggest surprise to me is how much quieter the printer is with the case on.

Upgrade. Unable to maintain 100C on a 14A polyfuse. Especially when the ambient is below 20C

So how is the printer build enclosure going. Did you install a thermostat?
