I tried slicing a few vases in mattercontrol and cura 15.
both had problems.need to reduce polygons.

    I thought I would try cura 3.6.
seems to have sliced it w/o a problem/
I checked the starting g code and it had the auto level in there.
but when I went to print it didnt do the auto level sequence. and started to print from whatever the height of the nozzle was at.

okay maybe i 'll try the newer mattercontrol. the older version had an option to select spiral vase.
I cant find an option for spiral vase.
I cant even find the percentage of infill to select 0
I only see, starting angle, infill overlap and fill thin gaps.

I really didn't expect this to become difficult.

    what am I doing wrong?

Happens when the model has a lot of vertices and the slicer runs out of memory doing the slice (which is all done in RAM mostly).
Can't speak directly to any of the slicers you mentioned as I personally just have not used them. Glancing at the docs :

    http://wiki.mattercontrol.com/SETTI...ttings_Will_Clear_at_End_of_Print/Spiral_Vase

at some point mattercontrol supported the spiral vase mode...

In MC 2.0, go to Slice Settings - General. Set the number of layers to 0 for the top solid layers and 3 for the bottom solid layers. Then go to PRINT near the top left (the one you use to start a print). Click on Advanced, then turn Spiral Vase on. This works fine for me printing PLA or PETG.
