Solved Printing stop mid print.

    *edit* Ok inching closer. I figured out why it wasn't uploading. I was using arduino 1.8.8(?) I had to use an earlier version 1.6.9 (I think it was). Now one more hurdle. On my smart screen for the hot end it shows 107/0 I figured it was because I had not changed the firmware yet. Even after updating the coding it still hasn't changed.

    Ok did a little trouble shooting. I opened up the bottom and un hooked the thermistor and used a different set of wires. That made a big difference. Now it shows 15/0. Thats normal correct? I hope this is the last hurdle. I really need to start printing again. LoL

    15°C is 59°F so if the ambient temperature was about that, then it appears correct.

    Most 3D printers use common sense numbering systems, like metric for measurements and Celsius for temperatures.

    Ok got everything hooked back up. Heated up my hot end so I could install the filament. But got stopped. Have to take my son to swim class. It is normal when heating up a brand new hot end to have a little smoke correct?

    yes, probably some light lubricant (silicone) flashing away.

    Awwwww I was so close. It extruded perfectly. Went to do a simple print to test and nothing came out. Was trouble shooting and realized the hot end was at an angle. It was being pulled through my PETG printed quick clip.. ughhh Now I cant print another. Can anybody give me a hand please..[​IMG]

    If someone else can't do it over the weekend, I can do it Monday -- shoot me an email with an address by tomorrow night :)
    Maybe someone else is able to do it sooner (that is not a long print)

    PM sent. I think what may have happened. I may have had heat creep(sp?). When I took my hot end apart it looks like the plastic tube inside was filled. One thing I did watch is that it looks like the replacement fan around the cooling fins. Never turned on. Is this supposed to run constantly when the machine is on? Or if it hits a certain temp? I tried looking for a labeled picture of the r1+ ramps card but all its says is fan on certain ones. It doesn't say which fan...

    If that fan didn't run 100% of the time you had heat creep :)

    That is a 30mm fan 12vdc.

    Not a fan of the connectors they added. They are handy, but they are a failure point.

    Ooooook. When I swapped out the connectors I had the polarities switched. (Palm to face) but I think with all the ham fisting I ruined my new thermistor so I just ordered a new one with a spare nozzle. At the store with the wife. Gonna try a small print when I get home..

    The thermistor is not polarity sensitive, the fans are (but on backwards they just dont run -- they won't die from that). The heater core is not polarity sensitive either.

    The thermistors ARE quite fragile and very easy to break internally with no visible evidence that they are dead :(

    Ughhh I am taking a break tonight I am fried.. I have everything re wired. Plastic tube inserted. All fans are up and running. Wanted to extrude a little filament just to double check. I cant get the filament to extrude. I am wondering if everything is clogged since I didnt have the fin fan going at first. :( I dont think its reaching the hot end.

    Very possible. Youll need to unclog by disassambling and getting out the clog. I take out all the electrical bits and use a butane confection torch and burn it out
