Pyrex (AKA Borosilicate) woes for Corning

Granted recent Pyrex glass is not borosilicate (rather it is soda-lime) and glass bed plates on printers are not getting thermal shock like the original Pyrex (borosilicate) was designed to avoid

 

This really isn't a Corning issue. It is part of the culture that wants to takes shortcuts. PYREX is a brand name not a glass type. Borosilicate is a glass type not a brand name (even your title is misleading). Just because at one time all PYREX branded glass cookware was borosilicate doesn't mean that you can interchange the names.

Besides Corning also makes soda-lime glass and alkali-aluminosilicate glass (used to make Gorilla glass).

Still I wish more people would just remember your last comment.
