Hey All. Anyone interested in designing a computer case, that would be easily printable in multiple parts, attached by screws or "Snap-in-place". Micro Atx?

    Two Questions:
    Assuming hollow walls
How much filament would it take to print that out?
    How long would it take?

Hmmm. I'm not sure Jeff. When I get my printer, I can test it out for you even though it wont be useful for me.

I would not waste the filament Harry. Curious though what would you guess without printing it?

i've been working on a custom case based on a character from an anime

im intending to use a mini-itx (17x17cm) and standard size psu, so it will have to be printed in at least 8 pieces with robo3d's build area. i had the draft quoted on ponoko, and the material was somewhere around $80 with 1/8" wall

Without being able to see what's under the board, it actually looks quite printable to me. The curves are no problem. Are you planning on having it printed before your printer arrives or did you just get the Ponoko quote as an FYI?
What's the overall scale? If it can fit within a 9" cubed build volume and you don't mind it being in PLA, I can probably make it for you for closer to $50.

i started this project some time last year and it was just for quoting since the labor cost from ponoko was like $200 ><. im trying to fit it within the robo3d build area, but i think its going to end up to be around 12x12x10 if i stick with a standard atx psu
