E3D v6 is out - lots of improvements

    Hello Mike,

    No by original heatsink and thermistor i would say the original pieces on the stock hotend of my robo3d.

    Do you think this is possible to use it on my e3dv6 ??

    Oh do you mean the heater cartridge with the red wires coming out? Yeah that should work for the E3D as well as the thermistor.

    Ok that's really cool so for the installation it was really simple only the head fan must be wiring :)

    I wasn't able to re-use the original thermistor, as it's thicker and won't fit into the default hole on E3D heatsink.

    Our stock just arrived. Should be listed on the site this evening, but feel free to DM me if you can't wait.
    This is definitely a pretty hot end. Looks just like Mike's render:) Install should be easy and the parametric nozzles are really a cool improvement.

    I just ordered two w/ bowden kits. I'm hoping I'll be ok not using the bowden connector. I totally spaced.

    I bought mine from Filastruder. PrintedSolid, I didn't know you were going to sell them. It's kind of good timing - I need to do the upgrade kits and haven't had time to remove all of the melted plastic from the last print.

    Nah, Filastruder was waiting for his, it was $3 to ship priority mail. I ordered mid last week...haven't gotten them.

    No worries, Tim's a great supplier too and deserves your support! I'm hoping that at sometime in the not too distant future, I'll have colorFabb pellets stocked for all of you Filastruder users.
    On the V6, the 1.75 size is universal to direct drive and bowden. The only difference between them is that the bowden version comes with a longer PTFE tube and a fitting for the driver end.

    I didn't put any of the PTFE tube in the extruder. Should I have? Does it help guide the filement?

    It probably doesn't matter too much unless you're getting into the more flexible filaments, but you are supposed to install it. Have you read E3Ds V6 release post? It describes the function of the tube.

    Wooo! Mine shipped today with some extra nozzle sizes.. Thanks to Matt @ Printed Solid for the quick and easy transaction. Unfortunately it looks like the v6 will get here before my Robo.. Ughh

    Got my v6 installed but have 2 questions

    steps 5 & 6 from earlier in the thread

    how do I change the firmware config fine
    how do I set the temp sensor to 05 is that in the repeater-host software ?

    5. change firmware Configuration.h file to say - Heater_0 max temp to 295
    6. change temp sensor to 05 if using new one (do nothing if using same sensor)

    It's in the firmware. You'll need to download the latest Robo3d firmware and the Arduino software so you can edit the configuration.h and upload it to the Robo.

    Be careful,

    I don't know what is the version of your robo3d if it's the model with the automatic bed level you must to have the firmware autorobo and not the firmware you can find on the forum.

    Mike Kelly can provide you this firmware if you need it.
