Note that you can send things like this to Mike via the forum's conversations message. It's the envelope icon on the top right.

Whilst I got my upgrade kit finally a couple of weeks ago, I'm only now getting the time to install it.
As stated it comes with a new black acrylic centre plate, with the holes predrilled for the new linear bearing holders. I was appalled by the quality on the mounting holes for them. The right hand side was more that 2 mm out, (I.e there was a 2.5 mm difference from the edge of the plate the the left vs right holes), forcing the plate to be skewed. On top of which only 3.5mm holes where drilled for 4mm screws, even the four holes on each side where out of whack. I had to redrill all of these.

Even the holes to remount the limit switch was not wide enough.

Had I known the quality was going to be this crap I would have just drilled out the old plate myself. Once again robo fails to impress, further ratifying that I will never, never buy from them again.

Don't bother with the upgrade kit, just not worth the money.

Luckily for us, it was such a tremendous pain for R3D to do the upgrade kits they won't be selling them anymore!

Hurray for them trying to do something nice!

I think most everyone can agree their intentions are terrific.
It is the follow-through/delivery that is lacking.
Some of that is out of their control (crap happens and you need to roll with it) but customer communications is not.

That's a bummer mate :-/. I just received my shipping tacking number for mine, so I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Huh, my drawer slides finally started to give up - their ball bearings would sometimes jam and move to one end of the slides, limiting the overall Y-axis work distance of the bed. When this happens during a long print, the object gets shifted in the middle towards either front of back... It ruined couple of my latest 12+ hours prints :(
What's the current status of shipping the upgrade now?

Same as before I fear. The quick (cheap) fix is to throw on a new set of sliders.
I don't know where they are at in the process of shipping upgrades (assuming they even still are).

Still waiting for the upgrade kit. I suppose I should just give up on it and get on with life.

The money they got off me should be helping the company somewhere.

Email Brandon directly with a firm note: braydon@robo3d.com . It worked for me.

    Hi David,

I apologize for the very long delay. I'll try and get your kit sent out over the next couple of days. Thank you so much for having been very patient with me.

Anybody have any suggestions of how I can get the upgrade kit I paid for back in June or should I just give up? Any attempt to contact RoBo has been ignored for a while now. Finally tried emailing Braydon directly over a week ago and still no response. I really want to tell people nice things about this company, but it seems like they're more interested in building their business (with our money) than in making their existing customers happy.

As an alternative, since I just want my printer working, can somebody recommend a third-party option (if there is such a thing) to replace the stock print bed?

FWIW, I got my order from May delivered recently with help from Mike and another personal email reminder to Jerry... I'm hoping to share my experience soon.

Gsuave, what is your order number. Just an FYI, I'm shipping 8 of the remaining 11 Y axis upgrade orders tomorrow. I still have a bit of work to finish off the other 3.
