Those kits... bless them for trying to do the retro fit, but they were a mess.
The do-it-yourself kit is a better way to go.

My bearings are really noisy? How do you know when you're buying a good quality bearing over a bad quality one?

I have quite a bit of play in my carriage... I think its where my ghosting might be coming from. I may just try these plastic bearings (after some more lash searching)

What bearings did you use to replace the lm8uu bearings?

You can pick an choose to your heats content. There are a ton of LM8UU sources out there, and frankly most of them are coming from China anyway. The difference between 'good' ones and 'bad' ones is pretty much immediately apparent when you use them. The good ones are almost silent and really smooth. The bad ones... not so much.

I even tried a set off of eBay on another printer and they were totally fine bearings (not really that different in price either). I suspect that Robo just either sourced from the lowest common denominator or got a bad batch in the production line. The original ones on my Robo X carriage are totally fine and still originals--working great. The ones they sent for the bed upgrade were just junk.
