Quick small update.

And after going to the Detroit Maker Faire yesterday, I kinda want a giant hamster wheel to power something. They had a giant wheel like you see in movies set in ancient times that uses 8 people or animals to turn it to produce power, except this one could power a house

on the start post of this topic, dated 19th of July, it's stated that 50 more cases arrived on one of the previous days. Lets say it was just the day before, 18th of July.

Since then it's been 10 days(not counting the 18th), 6 of which are business days.

Since my robo hasn't shipped yet, and even assuming I might be the absolute last in line of all March tiers, those 50 printers haven't finished shipping yet. So, even thought many of the printers have been pre-assebled before any cases arrived, the shipping rate is at best 8 printers per day -or less, as they haven't finished with the current batch of 50.

Which means that by maintaining the current rate(and if the last of the current batch ships no later than tomorrow), it's going to take at least 4 months more until the last kickstarter backer gets his printer(early December). And that's if the rest of the cases arrive in the following 3 days.

Moreover, by now I would expect for the team to have a rough understanding of the time needed for assembly and packaging, so that backers could be given an estimated shipping date for their tier. Instead last update regarding how things are going was on this thread 10 ago.

The product seems to be good, as people that already have it say. Try to communicate a bit more with us(especially since the project is quite late) and people will be -even more- patient.

It's actually gonna be slower than that, as the 8/per day was calculated using business days only and the estimated shipment of the last printer was calculated using all days. Taking that into consideration it takes us to at least 5 and a half months from now.

I would guess they team has something in mind and it won't take as long, but they haven't communicated it to us.

This is a cool thing.

I would bet it's the Yin Ping ship en route to Long Island, CA. One of few Chinese ships close to CA. Should arrive in a day or so it predicts.

 

Any chance one of the team could confirm or deny mkelly's findings.

How many sets should be in this shipment?

 

Any word on when the remaining 517 after these will be shipped?

And what order are these being fulfilled? By type (non-assembled kit, assembled, assembled w/ abs), or by original kickstarter fulfilment date? (march, april, may, june, july)

And there's 1017 kickstartered printers/kits, yeah?

 

I guess mine should be one of those then. I am an April delivery.

 

I count just under 650 units through May (not including the pledges for parts). This makes 500 units total.

I count 1017 total printer rewards.

In a best case, they've shipped 8 April units. Whether mine is in this shipment or not depends entirely on their definition of what they mean by May. I think I was a late adopter so I'll likely be desperately waiting for the next boat.
