The knob kept falling off one of the dimmer switches in my house, and then it broke entirely.... so I went over to Thingiverse and printed a new one:

Also, couldn't find my 2mm crochet hook one day, soooo....

Nose cone broke off my ARDrone 2.0 so I printed one that is even better for the camera to swivel on:

Before that I've printed a mount to hold my cell phone (note 2) on a tripod for stable camera work:
I resized it to 95% so it clips on without having a case on the phone. It's a snug fit, could have probably done 96%.
I hollowed out the bottom a bit more and hammered a nut into the base for the tripod to screw into.

This weekend one of my shop vacs started smoking and caught on fire, I wanted to keep using the floor tool, so I had an old fantom vacuum and made an adapter to hook the two hoses together.

My Ryobi Sander has been revived. Thanks to Mike Kelly, got it sized right, fit like a glove.

A few weeks ago I left my Garmin windshield mount in rental car. :( I use magnetic mounts in my personal car for everything else, but the Garmin has a 'hole' that the original mount uses and the metal plate for the mag mount was too far in to grip. So I whipped up a simple cylinder to adapt to the space and glued it in. Works great!

Pretty awesome work as usual, Galaxius. I was kind of tossing around the idea of making a cheap CNC machine. Wouldn't be doing anything too crazy with it, but I think it would be cool to build one that could do pyrography or etching based on what tool you strapped to it. I'm still quite a ways off from having the skills to pull that off, but in the mean time I've made a few things with real-world uses.

Considering I haven't posted anything in a while, I've got a small collection, haha.

In the interest of going overboard with my filament storage, I purchased a couple silica gel containers a while back. Just bought a ~60oz "airtight" dog food bucket and printed some clips for those.

I was having a go at manipulating models that other people had made and one of my friends asked if I would be able to take a model of an Orc and give it a book so he could use it for Pathfinder. I think the end result was pretty good. Decided to toss it up on Thingiverse if anyone wants one: Studious Orc

And last but not least, I'm in the Air Force and our squadron's mascot is the Black Knight, so we had the idea to re-purpose a broken monitor stand to have a sword in one "hand" and a shield (sign in clip board) in the other. I printed a knight's helmet that screws onto the top. I wish I could take a picture of it, but that's not going to happen, so instead, here is the bastard child of that project. After seeing that, leadership wanted me to make a going away trophy for one of higher ups. They're going to toss a 2" x 4" plaque on the front, that's what originally got me thinking about a CNC machine. Ended up with this:

I've also finally got around to making a picture frame for one of my friends that left a while back. Been meaning to do it since she left but for some reason Blender hated this project and I kept losing motivation to fight it. I haven't gotten around to printing it out yet, but I'll probably end up doing that tomorrow and uploading the picture to this post shortly after.

Did somebody say cnc? Here is a multi-tool /cnc, I call it the Bobcat.
    Usable bed size is 15 1/4" x 19 1/4" and will expand to 19 1/4" x 27 1/2"

That one's in my CNC collection on Thingiverse. Very nice design. I want to be able to cut/mill aluminum and don't want to flog the guts out of my Dremel extension.

Looking good, Mike! I definitely need to build one of those someday. Just need to have a little bit more room than my current 9'x10' room. Running out of room for activities between my 3d printer, desktop w/ 2 monitors, 2 desks, and king size bed. Haha

So we refinish furniture an wanted to make something for a boys room, my wife thought minecraft because some kid wanted it painted on his face at a fair that she worked. So I come up of the idea for the drawer knobs and tools that are on the corners. Now she actually believes the 3d printer is awesome, bout time..lol

I made some bird houses for our feathered friends.
No, the one on the right is not dual or changing filament, it was by coloring the filament with various sharpies. :)

Did you use the sharpies as you were printing? i.e. set them up to colour the filament as it feeds. I have seen a setup for this.

Or was it done after printing

This was done during printing, I tried one holder from thingiverse but did not work well, found another one and going to try again. I bought a 12pk of sharpies, I also got the gold, silver, and bronze so those are my next test.

Coloring the filament gives an awesome effect on transparents. I'm a bit less impressed with using it for opaque colors.
