Due to some auto-leveling issues and general print issues I am hoping to try Repetier Host with my Robo, but I can't find a setup guide anywhere. I've been told to just copy the MatterControl settings, however not all of the settings are immediately visible in MatterControl. I understand there used to be a pre-set Repetier download for the Robo 3d R1, but it appears to not exist any more. Anyone have a good setup guide for Repetier? Or know where I might look?

Probably the old guide would not match the latest version of Repetier Host.

First thing is to make sure you can connect via usb and use the manual RH commands.

The main Robo printer configuration setting are in the 2 pics. Obviously you will need to figure out which com port your printer is connected to.

Once you get the printer connected and working, the slic3r/cura settings in RH can be changed.

What all settings are you looking for? Just the basic printer setting like Ziggy showed? Or are you wanting settings like temp, layer height. speed, etc...?

I'm still a bit unsure about things on the "Printer" tab like the travel feed rate, etc.

Has to do with the manual control commands. Leaving them default is fine.

Thanks for your help guys! I've gotten Repetier set up and running, but I'm getting very poor print quality. Looks like it might be an issue with the axis steps? Is this something I can fix in Slic3r?

Puedo proporcionarle algunos perfiles para repetier si quieres. Los básicos para PLA o ABS.

(Lo siento, mi español no es bueno.)

From the past few months I have been changing the feed rate and flow rate on repetier host while printing.

I would like to know whether it is advisable to change these parameters or continue printing at default speeds i.e. 100 mm/s.

I have found it very useful to adjust the feedrate (and to a lessor extent) the flowrate during printing. I have set a very slow default feedrate for slicing (20mm/s) then adjust that as I see the part being printed.

I haven't found a single feedrate which is best for everything. On bigger parts a higher feedrate works fine, Small parts generally need a slower feedrate. Sometimes for a particular part there can be a problem where the feedrate and the extruder movement get into a kind of resonance where the whole printer shakes - in this situation changing the feedrate (generally down) stops the resonance.

Flowrate I have found to be more forgiving. Generally I set that during slicing to match the type and dimensions of the filament I am using - then don't touch it during the print.

Thank you for the advice Ziggy.

I used to change the flow rate when changing the feed rate.

Do I have to change the firmware to use Repetier? I'm in the middle of a long print, or I would just try printing and get my answer right away.

No, you do not need to change the firmware to change the printing software.
