Just modify the Z-steps, so the line where you already modified your extruder steps, change 2560 to 800. There are no other changes other than cosmetic ones.

Got mine today. Probably won't have time to install it before the weekend though.

Ditto. Although I got mine today.
Waiting on the Z stops anyway, planning to just do the conversion from Beta to R1 :)

I'm curious about this as well, I installed Tr8*8 on mine so Im assuming the thread pitch is different.

:( one of my rods isn't quite straight. Might install it anyways just to see how it performs.

Okay, did the swap, old ribbing is gone, Joy!!!
Only to be replaced with new, more rounded ribbing.... Kill Joy :/

Of the two lead screws I received, one looked new, but one was clearly used. They had different nuts on them, the used one had a scratched up and rounded top, and clearly had old grease on the threads.

I'm not sure if that is the problem now or not. The nuts that is, or a used motor vs new...
Did the "upgrade", new firmware, still ribbing.... Kinda bummed.

Yeah I had that problem as well. Ended up being a faulty lead screw: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iawrtykdib7x4jo/00051.MTS?dl=0

Harry said on the shoutbox that the lead screws did not go through the normal QC check so apparently several were bad. This should be resolved for future kits

Darn... Did he mention any chance of replacement for those of us that fell on the wrong side of QC?
I guess I'll shoot him a message then.

If that new stepper motor dies in the future, does that mean you have to buy the whole assembly as opposed to just replacing the motor?

If you want to crack open the motor and try to assemble it with the new motor, go ahead I guess.

I would definitely recommend using leadscrews on printers. I used a similar stepper with integrated leadscrew on the printer I built (didn't want to have to go through the torturous Z Ribbing from threaded rods again) and it works great. No messing with the z axis at all, and the sides of prints look like this:

Made a quick vid here showing how bad one of the screws are. You can see it's clearly used and dirty compared to the shiny new one on the right side.

You guys made me paranoid enough I broke open the kit and checked them... they are fine <whew>
I am waiting on the Z endstops before I do the install ... I figured I'll just make the conversion from the beta to an almost R1. Besides, still busy working on the DLP and I need this to print parts :)

Did anyone get shipping info with their order? Just noticed the transaction went through on Paypal, but no email or anything on shipping?

I placed my order on the 17th and figured the paypal transaction wouldn't go through until the order was processed and shipped. Noticed a couple days ago that the paypal transaction went through on the 22nd. So it made me wonder if the order processed and is would be shipping.

Unless, Robo3d is going ahead and taking the money then still waiting till mid August to ship. It would be nice to know...

What made you think they wouldn't take payment right away? It said shipping after august 15th did it not?
