i spoke to customer service and they told me i will definitely have mine before Christmas. and i ordered on Saturdaylast week so i think you should have yours soon

 

Good news Allen. I am an April ABS backer so it should not be long for me.

 

I also ordered from the website. I am sorry, but I have little faith that it will arrive by Christmas.
If the China manufactures do come through and deliver a quality product quickly, then Robo 3D will be saved. If not, I feel like it will have been a mistake to have ordered a Robo 3D rather than another printer for a little more money.

At this point I also fear that the produce will come direct from China and have either shipping damage or a quality related issue and I will need to try to get ahold of the Robo 3D staff for weeks in order to resolve the issue. Mention of them working or future sales and projects actually makes me more fearful that this will be as good of a product/experience as I had hoped it would when I first saw that I had missed out on the Kickstarter.

As a customer who purchased a 're-order' product from a web site, assuming I had not known there was a Kickstarter or found these forums, I would have tried to cancel my order by now. Order on July 14th, 2013. "estimated to be delivered in September 2013". Emailed customer support Sept 4, 2013. Got email Sept 11 saying they are back from China and "Your printer should only be a few weeks delayed into October". Got an email which looks like it was to all website preorder customers on Sept 18 explaining about the China trip. No solid dates or even estimates.

I agree with a lot of what scotta has said. The lack of information of their progress still scares me. Its not that hard to say how many are shipped and how many are left to ship. The fact that January, March, ect backers have to come to the forums before Robo 3D realize that they are still waiting for a product scares me even more.

It would be nice to know how many they are currently shipping per day since they have had some time now. They first estimated 30 to 50, now it looks like 30.

I will be flabbergasted if mine arrives before Christmas, but if it does, wonderful and the team will get kudos for gettings things caught up so quickly.

beginning of october. order confirmation said 8-12 weeks, but I wasn't betting much that the estimates were all of a sudden going to be accurate.

I know how startups work, and getting a smooth transition to production is always a challenge.

 

But production now seems to be going well. They have received 500 from China with another 500 very near completion. All we have to do now is QC them and ship them.

 

oh so they are doing qc. i thaught it was direct delivery. thats good would the 500 extra take a month or so?

 

They were saying +/- 30 per day but we haven't been getting consistent updates. Maybe we will get an update on numbers shipped at the end of each week.

Leon is keeping an unofficial update going in the discussions thread (I think that is where it is)

 

Mine (Kickstarter April delivery) arrived! But it came without a power cable so I have to locate one before I can test :-(

Otherwise looks g00d -- nicely packed and well-designed.

 

QC doesn't seem to be going well if power cables are missing.
