So today I am finishing up a job with the Robo that took... a lot.
We had 65+ models to print, each roughly an hour and a half. Started last Wed. evening and will finish up tomorrow printing (painting adds a bit, but still controllable). Out of all the prints I have had two that fell down and both look to me like oiler failures (as in -- oops, I forgot to add a few drops over the last dozen prints).

Other wise, outstanding quality and done at full-speed. Each model was slightly different (they were customized to have raised names on them). I am extremely happy with how well the Robo has performed in this. I have never put it through this long of a cycle of nearly continuous (about 20 hours a day) printing before and it held up like a champ. I periodically lubricated the rods, but other than that just fed it filament.

So, yes, you really can get a lot of good work out of this printer if you get it setup and tuned correctly.

Not really :) I am not sure on that given the item location, but I may take a pic of the batch from a distance... should be safe with that.

It is a model of a sound stage with some props in place about 4x5x3 inches with each cast members name in raised letters across the front end of the stage (first name, last initial). Painted to match what is physically there for the show.

They look pretty good for just little farewell tchotchkes (this exhibit is closing down and the staff relocated).

Some victims of the print run. These were full.
Still finishing up today, but with few exceptions should be done by 5pm.

And today I spent 1/2 hour converting this one to autoleveling as well as the second one we did.
Really simple to do (I highly suggest this for all BETA owners). With a minor tweak here and there in the CONFIGURATION.H it is running the latest version of the R1 firmware.

So two betas both now with auto leveling, one with the upgraded bed, one with the upgraded threaded rods.

That is a 'loaded' question :)

I got airsoft model a few months back... (maybe 4?) but the printing and painting we did fairly recently. It sat there for a while just taunting me. You basically field-strip the airsoft model to keep just the frame and then print all of the parts to remount on it.

I just finished the palm grips out of laywood -- the last part -- since the ones that came with the gun were really cheap looking plastic. These are wood now :)

I've received the airsoft model and was stating to print the parts when I had my 'incident' with the RAMPs board... lol. Now that it looks like I have things printing again, I will be picking that up soon. I hope I can make mine look as good. :)

Thanks, @mark tomlinson . I had printed some, but wood would be so much better. I will look and see what I can find.

The ones I ended up using required a bit of modification to the grip of the gun, but nothing stupidly hard.
At least they were nice and thick and wood :)

Canola oil. very little. A light sheen as the filament feeds in is enough

White lithium grease (also called lithium lube).

This type of machinery (the gears, bearings, rods, etc) are better served with a light grease than with a light oil.

I use canola on filament and 3 in 1 oil on the threaded rods and smooth rods.... Never considered lithium but willing to try it Friday (maintenance day for my printers lol)
