ROBO 3D Spray Shield

Hello,

Here's the first thing that I want to show off. It's a spray shield for the ROBO 3D. I use hairspray on my bed and windex to clean it. This helps to keep the sprays from places where I don't want it to go.

I don't think i would have the patience to print something that large when I could just use paper or cardboard

 

It's two pieces. I printed one a night. Depending on the settings you use it's about 6-7 per piece.

 

Clever design. Can't stress enough to folks that spraying hairspray all over your printer is a bad thing. I use a sheet of paper to keep the spay on the bed and off the rest, but this is a neat solution. How long does it take to setup each time or is it glued together?

 

They are two separate pieces. There is no setup time. Just put'em in. Spray. Pull'em out. Tada! The only thing that may take a moment is positioning the Z-axis. I usually set it at around 50-55mm. I don't have any of the fan mods so I'm not sure how well it'll work with that. Maybe moving the Z-axis up a bit more will help.

 

I now have dual fan ducts with 40x40x20 fans. The spray shield still works well with that mod. I do have to take the carriage up to 80mm now to get better coverage of the printing bed surface. There are about 25mm of the back that are blocked by the shield. That still works for me.
