Is Prototype quality possible?

    There is no functional difference between the customized R1+ RAMPS board and the normal RAMPS board.
    The only real differences are the way the connections are made to it AND the fact that the parallel the extruder 2 channel for the Z channel so that you can use two channels for the Z motors. If you put a standard RAMPS in an R1+ it will work fine and still be an R1+ from the firmware standpoint :)

    Leave yourself at least an hour for the work. It might not take that long, but just do it carefully.
    The only thing I will add is to check the new steppers are stepping the correct direction and if backwards, just reverse the plug on the RAMPS. You can't always trust the wire colors in the plug to be correct.

    Hasn't been a problem in a long time from what I have heard, but still a good idea to make sure the lead screws are straight before you install them.

    Ha, Mark, heck it took me 3 hours to do my Full Graphics LCD, and that's with the cables already plugged into the printer!!! Lol troubleshooting Adruino on a Mac is like trying get a wet noodle up a cats butthole without getting scratched!
