No, but I would recommend using fda food safe materials. Not sure if you plan on printing straight to a mold or will you print the shape you want and then use silicone to create the mold.

Thanks probably over time both methods. Would PLA WORK considering the low Temps required for chocolate and if I'm not mistaken it's organic isn't it?

PLA would work, but it isn't FDA approved. It is a corn based filament I think, but you never know what they put into these filaments as additives. Especially with cheapo generics. I know people do try using it for food though.

You have to get a very specific PLA (like that one by Makergeeks that actually has the FDA approval on it), or do the silicon mold creation method.

Of note for that Makergeeks filament, to really get the benefits from it you have to bake it in an oven at something like 200F for two hours to anneal it and really get the additional strength out of it.

Please note that the Makergeeks filament in particular boasts being able to endure being run through the sanitize cycles of dishwashers after you go through the annealing process, so that makes it probably the only one that can actually be used to create your fancy artistic 3d printed dishes and cups safely.

Also note, for the purposes of chocolate molds, a PLA mold would be stiff and might cause issues with removing the chocolate. Probably best to design you mold as a clam shell style.
