I am enjoying it. It seams a little pricey when you see all the knock off kits are so cheap. A friend of my did that and now regrets it. If you build this I think you will be happy. One of the reasons I got this for my collection is Prusa really does update and keep it current. Like the firmware I did 2 in the last three weeks so they maintain it. They are also do hardware upgrades. (yes Robo3d does too big plus)

It's not the perfect but so far it has performed well for me. My Robo3d r1 is a work horse that worked well for me and still does. This is a great addition I wish Robo3d would have developed the R2 and more but it is what it is.

PS If you do get the kit be advised that you must have some skills at mechanics and some electrical background would be helpful. Some can do this and other shouldn't go near a toaster.

    Watching closely.
If quality if the same of better than my Robo, I just might go for a Prusa build myself.
Pieces and parts don't scare me (too much).

Well I think it is very good. Here are some abs prints I did,
20160821_103612.jpg Articulated joints and they works flawlessly

Besides the live z- adjust you can adjust the bed quadrants by up to 50 mm ( better check this number later) each. Say left side is not as close you can adjust the left side bottom or top independently.

But you do have to keep the bed clean and don't touch it if you do clean with a alcohol wipe. Glue sticks are OK just clean it.

Just saw that our buddy Tom is going to do a live stream putting the Prusa MK2 together in a couple days. Love watching his unscripted streams. Hopefully this one won't be a 15 hour marathon like the Delta he built last weekend.

Ok that video was great yesterday. The calibration routines built into the firmware and LCD are great. You can even change the Z offset on the fly while it is starting to lay down the first layer. Tom gave it a strong 10 out of 10. He had preassembled one printing a "long necked frog" straight out of the box at .2 layer height that looked amazing. He later printed a small frog with the one he assembled on the stream and it looked pretty good as well. The routing to calibrate X and Y was a fascinating 9 step process that corrected for his assembly not being spot on and having a bit of a skew. Over all, for the price, great printer. And they use quality parts and not clones of controller boards.

    Yeah the Frogadon was great

Did you catch that the same y belt holder in the kit was also broken and he had to print one off too?

Hahaha...you're kidding? I missed that. He had the Y pretty much done before I started watching and then I only got to watch here and there during the 12 hour build. I may have to go back and watch/skim the first part. Josef was on the stream as well. Maybe he is looking into that tiny QA issue. Tom can pretty entertaining. He was a little more slap happy, but it could have been all the gummy bears he was eating that Josef sends in the printer box. The man can also put away some burgers for a skinny guy.

So I guess if anyone is still wondering if an MK2 is worth it, Tom just went heads over heals on his review of it. Tom approved!

That is a really smart approach. Then again, look who designed it.

Are you going for it? Looks a lot like the Prometheus system that hit Kickstarter. Pretty cool setup.

He is one of the folks who started this 'revolution' called 3D printing :)
Not surprising that he continues to innovate.

He's looking for about 30 beta testers. So now I wish I had the MK2 already to be a beta tester.

I have never seen it...so I can neither confirm nor deny that said bear does anything in the woods. ;)
