    For you?

    Sure :)

I had to dust them off and gather them back together, but .. anything for a friend.

A block of wood on the bottom to keep the stuff dry (or suspend it from the top with wire)
Yea, that is a bigarsed Dutch Oven too :)

Now no arguments -- the vapor polish is really nice and if you do need to use ABS it is a nice feature.
Sadly these days I'd rather use something stronger (like Alloy 910 or BluPrint) and just coat it with XTC3D when I am done. Same look and no 'boom' possible (unless you are really doing something wrong). Not that I was ever really worried about it, just be careful and no boom.

The abs runs through the zortrax lol. 50+ hour prints with no warp and cheap so getting alot of work. The vapor smoothing is adding a nice margin :) wont be long term but a nice boost.

Xtc3d is my go to after we talked about xt and it :). Taulman tglass on sale tonight from @Printed Solid

I print PLA only at this time. Would be VERY interested in a method to do this on PLA.
But I will eagerly follow the thread anyway.

Best bet. I tried (and there are threads in here somewhere) other various PLA solvents like MEK (nasty, nasty stuff) and none of them worked as well for PLA as acetone does for ABS. However, XTC -- Da Bomb.

How about paint? Do I paint before or after doing this smoothing process (acethone or XTC)?

Paint after if you want a smooth surface for the paint or paint before if you want a gloss finish over the paint. That only applies to XTC, acetone smoothing is always before.
