I have a Raspberry Pi coming in the mail today, it's my first Pi. The goal for this thing is to set up my 3d R1+ for remote operation (mostly I just want to be able to look at my phone, and respond by cursing profusely and halting failed prints).

I know about Octoprint, Astroprint, and Repetier-server. Are there other such pi-compatible software out there?

Edit: What are the advantages and challenges for each one?

I think you will get more support using OctoPrint or the specific Guysoft distribution of OctoPi than any of the others. I am not sure anyone here has used Repetier-Server and if I recall there was only one person who used Astroprint. I am not sure you will get much concerning advantages of one over the others.

I have dallied with Repetier server. I like OctoPi better.
    My 2 cents.

I tossed a coin and tried Astroprint first. Seems to be working swell so far.

That is one we have not tried, it was on my list if I had issues with OctoPrint (I didn't).
