Before each print my robo r1 does the 9 point autolevel calibration. The issue is that first layer of big prints isnt perfect all along the heated bed.

I payed attention to the flexible couplers.. shouldnt they move up and down while x and y axis are travelling to compensate the z offset? They remain static.
In another 3d printed i have, i installed last marlin version with the autolevel thing and i can see how couplers are moving

Did you use Robo's version of Marlin? It has the old planar auto-level and is not very good. No matter what Robo calls it, it is always Marlin 1.0.0.

You can try @WheresWaldo mesh leveling thread. It is fantastic for that very issue (and other great benefits as well)

Im using firmware from WheresWaldo Mesh leveling thread. The only thing is that if you download TR8*8 version, when you go to Movement settings..You have uncommented #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT { 80, 80, 800, 800 } //--ROBO-BH Default steps per unit for RoboR1+PLUS .

There are multiple versions in that thread on purpose, you need to download the correct one for the PLUS if you have a PLUS. Then there is no need to edit.

Fixed. What do you recomend? ABL or Meshlevel? If i choose meshlevel i have to manually calibrate the 16 points and save em to EEPROM?

Personally, and I cannot tell you what to do, I chose MESH. Set it save it to EEPROM then don't worry about leveling until I flash new firmware. If you simply don't want to do it yourself, even once, then the Auto-level now uses the same type of correction matrix if you chose bilinear (which is on by default in these versions).

I don't use auto level because even though it is better than before, it still relies on the nozzle pushing down on the bed until the z axis endstop triggers and is affected by flex in the glass bed.

ditto. also use mesh. it is fantastic and setting the 16 points takes very little time, just DO remember to save it to EEPROM or it will frustrate you (dont forget to clear eeprom after the firmware update before you do the leveling)

Actually latest versions are configured for 25 points (5 x 5 grid).
