Does it matter how far I run the printer cord from my PC to my R1+ i want to move my printer to my hobby room that is about 40 ft away I wanted to run cable through my crawl space.

Will that effect the performance of the PC to the printer?

    Thank you
    Kurt

Why not install an XXL lcd screen w/ an SD card reader. Then you don't need to be tethered to your computer.

I have seen 15 ft USB cables but it is rare to find a 40 or 50 foot cable The USB 2.0 specification suggest a limit of 5 meters (16' 5") on the cable for full speed communications.

You will likely need a USB hub in the middle. I have tried using USB "extenders" that take a USB signal and convert it to CAT5 for longer runs, but if you use that you need to use the more expensive versions :)

Thanks for all the replies I was concerned about the USB not getting the right amount of signal. I will be looking into all your suggestions.
    Thank you for your help.
