My printer bed will only move in the minus direction. (X and Z work correctly). I can manually move it in either direction on the Y-axis, but when I try to jog it, whether I hit Y+ or Y- the bed moves in the Y- direction. And, when attempting to print, the bed will try to move in the Y- direction, but since it is already home, it just grinds repeatedly, moving nowhere, except X and Z. Any suggestions?

Bad Stepper, Bad stepper driver or bad wiring, or bad RAMPS?
Not nearly enough information there to narrow that down.
Is the Y axis even homing correctly? Maybe the Y home switch is not triggering?

It does home correctly, but then stays stuck at the Y-home position.

Then I would suggest it is likely the stepper driver or the RAMPS itself. Start with replacing the stepper driver (those are cheap) or as an experiment swap your Y axis stepper driver for the X driver and see if the problem moves with the driver card.

I switched the y and x stepper drivers, and the problem moved to the x-axis. So, where can I get a new driver? Saw some online, but they are 12V

Good luck. They are just peel-n-stick heatsinks if they do come not mounted.

The reviews are a hoot, people who bought them to mount on a RAMPS are happy clams, a lot of those who bought them to use generically as step-sticks from an Arduino or Pi -- a lot less happy :)

I have bought a batch from these folks and a couple of others from different vendors via Amazon and they all pretty much worked.

(as cheap as they are I keep a handful for spares and if one get wonky I toss it rather than tune it)

I am near the point I need to just buy another of the Box-O-Spares for the Arduino/RAMPS... got plenty of the stepper drivers :)

Love those kits. I had a batch of arduinos from other things we were working on and just opted to buy loose parts on time. Probably stick with the kits now

Same here those kits are so cheap. I bought two and have only ever used one ramps board from them LOL

I think I've got... like 9 of those kits lol. All with various things missing because I'm not intelligent enough to only open one ! lol!!!!! but its great to have spares at that low cost for sure.
