My power brick for the printer seems to be really loud, even when the printer is turned off. Has anyone else found this to be the case with there's?

The brick is a 24 volt, 9.2 amp supply. At 220 watts it requires a fan inside. Nosier than my PC and I can hear it across the living room. Don't notice it when printing, as the printer is the primary source of noise.

Soon I'll be moving the R2 upstairs to a spare room. Before ordering the R2 I thought all this remote control stuff was a bunch of marketing hype with no practical use. But after starting print jobs remotely from my PC and monitoring progress with the web cam, I really appreciate that I can move the printer to another room and easily use it.

True - the external power supply / fan remains on after powering down the R2. I'll probably add a smart outlet for the supply so I can tell my Google Home to turn it off. I already control several outlets and ceiling lights with Google Home.

Also, there are IP controlled power strips available, as well as one's controlled via isolated low voltage. Maybe someone will create an OctoPi script to shut down a power strip or outlet when a print is finished.

Yea, if you catch my unboxing video on youtube, when I go to fire up the printer, I briefly focused the camera on the noisy power supply. I plan on putting it on an IOT switch so I can turn the printer on / off using the computer as well.

Longer term you can swap in a quieter 24v supply (24v is at least fairly standard, unlike the 19v they used on the C2)

Can you confirm the number of watts the power supply need to output ... I do a have fan less 24v power supply at 227 watts is this going to be enough?

What are the label values on the one you have (voltage and current)?

The R2 power supply brick is 24 volts at 9.2 amps which equates to 220 watts.

I thought it was for my Xbox 360, I thought it was a gift! Looks almost the same. Pretty loud though, I can hear it well over the printer. Once it goes in the printer room I won't care, but of course out of excitement it is sitting on the dining room table. ;)
