On my R2 even when I start the video stream I still get this error: There was an issue retrieving the source of the webcam. Please try reloading the page. However if I start a print job within Cura, the cam comes up. Just can't view within Octoprint for some reason.......Always growing pains with a new printer.

I think everybody get that error message. You just have to refresh your page and the video will show up.

Right, done that. Same error. Even on different browsers and computers.

for what its worth I have octoprint on my Type A (their set up, much similar to Robo) and I had to install bonjour for windows for the webcam to work. Does the R2 octoprint have a timelapse feature built in?

    Yes.

    C2 does so I can't imagine the R2 doesn't

At the very top click on the System menu, and turn on the webcam. "Start Video Stream"

Mine was doing the same, now I want 1080p and full screen.

My Octoprint would never display webcam and gave the same error as others. Cura displayed the video fine...once your started the Video Stream.
I changed the webcam setting in Octoprint UI to http://"IP of Robo3D R2":8080/?action=stream
Using Google Chrome had to clear cache and it started working.
Now I can monitor locally or remotely using Android OctoRemote.

If you look in the threads I created there is one listing my mods, including one how to start the camera automatically on boot.
