Alternate Fan Shroud 3D source files

I'm attaching the 30mm and 25mm fan stl files

Key features

1. All fans are 30 mm square
2. Relocated rear fan to blow more directly on the hotend heatsink
3. Parts fans won't blow on heater block of your hotend
4. Parts fans are tilted downward 45°

This should be printed upside-down and may need supports for the the inside of the parts fans and the rear fan. I would suggest printing this in Nylon, Polycarbonate, or ABS to avoid any issues with heat. Current version is always available by going to the provided link, some small tweaks to make the top a bit stiffer, relocate the IR sensor just a bit lower, lowered extruder fan 2 mm to line up better with the hotend heatsink.

 

Now printer almost ready to install on the R2, just need to swap connectors on the rear 30 mm fan.

30x30x10 mm 24V DC fans (5 pack)

The connectors still need to be changed to JST-EH 2-pin. Mouser and Digikey have them in the US. Aliexpress for the rest of the world.

Something really odd about the fans used, at least on my R2 (refurbished) they are not 24v fans, I wondered why when I put the new fans in the fan shroud why the printer was now so quiet. So i looked at the original fans and they are all rated at 12v. Not wanting to put all that noise back into the printer I just used an original fan for the hotend cooling, leaving the 24v fans for the parts cooling.

So if you do this mod make sure the fans in your current shroud and the extra 30 mm you need for this one match specs.
