Ok.... So I can use a profile to make a .gcode. Set my offset. Looks good. Run the model/models I need to print with the same profile I set my z offset with and the offset is wrong. There is clearly something I'M doing wrong.

    Slice Model in S3D
    Profile 1 to make gcode
    Set offset
    Slice Model 2 in S3D
    Profile 1 to make gcode
Offset is wrong on printer (Usually to close, Model is set on bed in S3D before slicing)

Did you check the generated GCode to see if the startup GCode is the same?
If you reverse the order of the printing does it matter?

Startup code seems to be the same.
If I reverse, I have to change the offset again.

If they are sliced with the same profile in the same program, it would stand to reason that the offset would be the same, correct? Lol. I just have to be doing something wrong. Now both of printers are messing up.

Then something is off with the slice. Make sure there are no machine settings in play (like a global Z offset) and/or create a new profile.

I would have to add a m565 command to set the z offset right? I don’t have that in there. I’ve checked over and over. I will do the new profile again. The only thing different from default is infill, temp, and 1st layer 100% from 90%. Could the layer being up by 10% be doing it? It’s the same on both gcodes.

Yes, without the M565 you will get a slightly random Z offset.
Put it in there and you will be consistent I bet

Then you shouldn't need the M565. Not sure which version of leveling you are using.

Are you using the stock firmware?
If so then it is standard ABL and you need the M565 in your startup GCode block like so:

G28; Home Z again in case there was filament on nozzle
M565 Z-1.0; adjust to suit your printer
    G29 ; probe the bed

I use Simplify3D and I have that g28 and g29 but not m565. I have my offsets set in my EPROMs because I have so many models I print at different temps. Am I losing what your saying?

So this is the Robo provided firmware edited for E3D? Who modified it? The name is not recognized. If you do an M115 what is the output look like?

So this could be some be some of my problem? Bad firmware? I use this on both printers. I thought I got it off the Robo website when I got the E3D upgrade but I won't swear by it. If there is one I should be using, I will change. I'm upgrading one of my machines to the T8 Lead screws. From what I read, it looks like I only need to change one value in the config.h for that though.

So the printer is an R1, not R1+?

Correct, both are R1. R1+ have the good lead screws right?
