Robo R2 Filament Cleaner

    This is R2 filament cleaner I created to prevent jams that kept happening for me. This clips on to the runout sensor. Currently I’m not home so I can’t upload the file. But for now these pictures will do I suppose.

    A few drops of oil on that sponge and insta-oiler :)

    Yeah I have the hole in back of where the sponge goes for that very purpose so you can oil without really taking out the sponge or the filament

    I'd add it to my C2. Haven't needed to season it yet (random luck I bet) but I would still go there

    I will have It on thingiverse today, I didn’t have an account so I had to wait 24 hours but I will have it there by tonight and I will also post the link.

    If it doesn’t fit let me know I will adjust the measurements and I’ll post it for C2 as well.

    Sure, I will post back. I honestly am sure it will since that sensor is the same size (AFAICT) on both machines. @Geof can say for certain.

    I'll print this as soon as my current print is finished for my R2. Not sure where to get our what to use for the sponge though...

    The sponge you can get it from harbor freight in automotive section, or other places but look for it in automotive isle. This is the one I got.

    oil doesn't hurt any non-PLA filament, does it? it seems like it would stop the plastic from adhering to the print bed, but I know that can't be.

    Oil is meant to be for pla mostly I believe, and as for oiling you don’t want a lot like a drop is the most I would put and purge the nozzle to lubricate inside and then print.

    That is initially what I did and didn’t have any issue with them sticking so may be purge a little shouldn’t hurt.

    I have my sponge cut in half I insert from both side after I insert the filament, and then push them together I might modify the design to include something to keep the sponge in. But to be honest don't really need one. My sponge hasn't moved since I installed it.

    Should be the exact same. Plan to print this tonight and add to both the R2 and C2 (you'd just be foolish not to :D )
