Hi My printer is printing in the air about an inch off the bed.

When it goes through the self-leveling sequence it travels upward on Z but not back down.

I've looked at other posts about this but those where for Robo3d R1 not R1 Plus, so the setups a little different.

Please help, I'm totally stuck here now. I've been printing fine for months and have always been able to debug issues myself but this one has me stumped.

Please see YT vid for demo

One of your z switches is likely out of place or the wiring has come undone to them.

Had this same problem recently and it was one of the Z switches.

    Thanks

So how did you fix it?

Did you have to replace the z switch?

One of the switches had to have failed. They can be checked with a multimeter. Share some photos of your switches

I just had to manually raise and lower the sides to get the switch to start clicking. My right switch was stuck on.

Your second photo, I can't quite tell, but it looks like the Z switch is not all the way to the top. With the nozzle off of the bed, they should both be help closed by the crossbar.
