    Would you recommend a used C2 for $300-350? I've not really followed the new models, but one is available so I'm considering...

    Thanks, Geof, that would be helpful. I currently have an upgraded R1 and right now only print ABS on it. I looked at Robo's product page, and it doesn't even mention which materials, other than offering to sell PLA along with a new printer, so I didn't realize it didn't have a heated bed. I've seen a C2, a R1+, and a Makergear M2 for sale nearby, all near the same price. I have a friend with a M2 that is a real solid workhorse. I've liked my R1, but seem to just continuously have issues with electronics, thermistor, etc. so just trying to decide what which would be good to add.

    Abs will be a strong no go on the C2. Pla, some nylons, petg can be made to work etc but nothing that requires a heat bed

    You can print a lot more than PLA on it, if you switch to BuildTak on the surface you get a lot more options :)

    If you look through settings for materials you will see things like this:

    Nylon 230
    Print temp = 230C - 235C
    Nozzle = any size
    Print speed = 80% of ABS speeds
    Retraction = 3-4mm
    Print bed = Hot = Glass heated to 45C with coat of PVA
    Cold = BuildTak with coat of PVA

    So, cold bed fine for that.

    I like my R1 + a lot and don't have many break downs but I do toss out and replace a lot of stuff on most used machines I get, M2 is a hell of a deal at 300 if it works. It's praised as a work horse

    My R1 has been upgraded quite a few times. Thinking of replacing the RAMPS with a MKS 1.5 that I have. Getting a MINTEMP error right now, so need to fix that.

    The M2 (if it's still available) was around $400, but still a heck of a deal. Said it's clogged, but that shouldn't be tough to clear out. I have a friend that's had a M2 longer than I've had my R1 and it's still going strong, and he hardly ever has to do anything with it.

    Offer 300 for if and use the 100 for spare parts ;). C2 is a pla beast, I runs tons of it through but if you don't print pla it's my opinion to not get that machine.

    Thanks, that's helpful. I'm not necessarily against PLA, but a lot of my prints are for car fixes, or other parts that need to be a bit more heat resistant.

    Then something like BluPrint is on your list of materials :) and that does need bed heat to perform best.

    If the choice is bed heat versus none for the same price ... always go with bed heat.

    Iw will have to check out BluPrint. On the R1, I use PEI on the bed and it's fantastic. Can be way too sticky without the right height adjustment. :)

    Colorfabb ht and their new low warp material would be good. Polymaker put out a new low warp nylon i need to try still. They claim printed part good to 180C or something crazy

    If that Makergear M2 is available that's the one to get. Forget the other two, because you're talking about a machine that originally went for $1,500-$2,000 (depending on where you bought it) and the owner is stymied by a clog?

    Sheesh, capitalize on the stupidity of others every chance you get, man.
