I've been looking at a couple of vids and pics of people printing with their r2 and noticed that in a lot of them people print without the magnetic plate with the robo branding on the hot end.
Is there a reason for this?
Did they just misplace it and never got around to replacing it?
Does it have anything to do with air flow and cooling?

Some folks might be leaving it off for more cooling.
For a point of reference I have two hexagon hotends on mine and I leave the plate on no problems :)

Yes, IMHO that is the only reason for two extruders :) Colors I can paint

Yes it is doable, Robo is supposed to be releasing a dual extruder kit. I wouldn't base any purchasing decision on if and when that will release. They seem to be pushing the Palette as a multi-color/multi-material solution.

You can look at the dual extruder mod I did on the C2 if you like. It would totally still be doable on the R2 (there is even a mount point created on the R2 for the motor already) as well, but like @WheresWaldo indicated I would not be holding my breath for a 2nd extruder kit from Robo.

Yeah - i signed up for info on that, 30sec after they released the info.. not looking like its going to happen any time soon :(

Is there info in the C2 forum about your dual extruder mod? Thats one of the reasons why i bought the R2 in the first place :D :D :D

@mark tomlinson created a thread on how he modified the C2 for Dual Extruder it is somewhere at the top of the Mods section of the C2 forums. The extruder for the R2 is identical to the C2 so all the instructions should be transferable.
