Putting the USB port back was too much work for the limited value, I am currently using a Class 10 UHS 1 32 GB µSD card so no real need for the USB slot. Plus it is a network printer after all.

So, how are you using the RoboOS with a different printer? Does the interface just spit out standard gcode commands to operate any printer?

Yes, it just controls octoprint. I needed to set up a new printer profile and change a couple of things but it wasn't difficult at all. :) It works really well. I need to change a couple of icons and things.. redo the filment change / load as that's not right.

Is the UI just html or python? So easy to edit?

What would it take to run this on the 7" raspberry pi touch screen?
    TIA

I'm 95% sure it's just the same procedure, it should just work. From what I've read it uses the same driver :)

Robo OS is up on the screen but have no touch. The touch screen was working already with raspian so I know there is no problems with the touch screen itself.

Is it a GPIO based touchscreen or a USB based touchscreen? Which model of 7" screen will determine how to reconfigure the software. For instance, this mod requires two cables be attached the the screen, one HDMI the other USB plugged into the Touch labeled USB port.

It's the original raspberry pi touchscreen. It's hooked direct to pi display port

Morning, Did you also plug in the usb lead to attach the touch part of the 'touchscreen' ? Any photos would help :)

Also, make sure you added the lines correctly to Kivy. One line is already in there that looks similar but it's not.. Did you then also install the touchscreen drivers?

    Thanks,

    CdRsKull,
The official Raspberry Pi touchscreen uses an adapter board that connects directly to the Raspberry Pi display port via ribbon cable. THe board handles the touch from there. IT's power comes from 2 pins on the gpio. Drivers are built into Raspian. I made sure they were in there and running. I made sure your lines were added correctly to kivy.

I have one on order, two actually in case they break. Only $21 a piece and I will actually likely use these for another project as I want a bigger screen now. There is other issues too they are ignoring which is a bit of a let down. I tried....many...times, to contact them. They are losing out on the C2 STEM package purchase due to it as I am looking for something similar to it to spend the cash on with a company that will be more responsive to their warranty. I am moving on from trying.

I suspect there may be a 7 inch or 10 inch (or larger) that uses similar control, but the larger ones tend to just default to HDMI and some do the touch interface differently.

As for warranty and responsiveness, I have a number of different printers in this price range (although not as many as MR PRINTER AKA @Geof ) and most have worse support. Much worse :) Some barely have any community support and at least Robo does have that. Their support (official) can use some work, but they are not worse than average.
