If you disconnect the power wires you have landed on the RAMPS (all of them) -- do they read the correct voltage out of the power supply?
That is an odd failure which is why I ask

I tested at the attachment screws and was actually getting 26 at first. I actually dialed the screw back a little.

and you measured that with the RAMPS and arduino disconnected from the power supply?
    If so it is toast.

    Supposed to be a 12v supply, not a 24v

If that is the case then it is what dynamited your regulator on the one Arduino board more likely than not

See, that's the weird part. It is functional right now with the old arduino that has a broken voltage regulator. I can turn it on, connect it to the Octopi, and heat the bed and extruder. The only thing that doesn't function correctly is the LCD screen. A video I watched suggested that that is a symptom of the melted voltage regulator.

    So confused.

never mind I see your problem
You meter is set to A/C volts...
    Not DC Volts

Fix that and read it again :)

That would be the V with the SOLID lines next to it not the V with the ~ lines next to it :)

Mind you 24v AC of ripple coming out of that unit is still bad.
I'd be putting in a new P/S personally, but that is not what the boards are using they are using the DC output (although that much AC could still cause problems)

    12.11v :)

My bad, I have only watched one Youtube video on multimeter usage. In that case, I think I'm golden over this way. About to hook up what I sincerely hope is my final arduino for a bit and see what's what.

What should the AC be saying? Should it also read 12?

I'd still be disturbed at that much A/C on the D/C side, but heck... could be just a floating ground or something.

The A/C should be close to Zero. It might read a few volts, but not more.

hmm, maybe the outlet isn't grounded?

At any rate you have been unendingly helpful and I'll likely get a new power supply soon as well. I'll be testing another outlet first though.

Sure, worth a shot although I'd not really suspect that to make the sort of difference you saw.
Glad it is working again at least, but this might prevent another Arduino from losing bits :)
