Anyone else have this issue or ideas what could have caused it? The unit is only 6 weeks old.

That is a snap together piece. Robo should be able to send you one. I have never seen that happen.

Yes, I called it in to tech. They opened up a case and will send it to parts. What’s odd is it appears as if it had an impact. But the amount of force needed to cause that would be beyond the power of the stepper motor, so I assume it happened during manufacturing or shipping. I guess something being out of alignment could also add stress on that joint. Anyway, thanks. Glad no one else has this headache

Shipping would be my guess. Harsh on the printers it is :)

So once they send me the parts, are you thinking I need to remove the gantry to install this, or is it just a matter of un-snapping the two halves and putting the new ones in?

I removed mine without removing the gantry, I am pretty sure I just unsnapped everything.

The rails on the X Axis snap into the top.
The two halved snap apart and then it can be removed.
    Replace in the opposite order.

thanks, yeah on the one on the front (closest to the door), the two rails actually snap up, into the bottom, but you're right - it should be easy. Robo is shipping me a new pair as they say they never saw this type of failure before.

Just got an email from Robo3D. They are sending me 3 set of xy brackets to fix my 2 broken ones plus a spare at no charge. My R2 was 15 days out of warranty. Downloaded the model of the bracket referenced below, will use that as my backup plan.

the things are cheap (about $1 each half) but they will want like $10 for shipping. My concern is in the design. If it cracked like yours did, or popped off the little clips, perhaps a redesign is needed. When I contacted Robo about this, they redirected me to the thread that @WheresWaldo had - where he shared a design that screws together.

As long as your printer is working, you could print a pair of them and be in good shape.
the screws it uses are these:

    And here is mine, fixed...

I don't see where any of mine are cracked but I get a pop/crack/tick noise consistently when the extruder mover from left to right about two thirds of the way through it's travel.

    Anyone heard this?

I'm printing the tools for it now. Also printing the bearing spacers and screw together brackets.
