After dealing with problems about my bed not heating up I am plugged the arguing out and looked around on the ramps board after plugging the eye doing it back in and turning on power I got “magic smoke” coming from in between The Arduino and the Ramps board. Why did this happen?

Did you plug stuff in with the Arduino powered or plugged into a USB port?

They are cheap replacements buy a RAMPS/Arduino pair on Amazon or eBay

Ditto- very cheap. When I suspect a ramps/arduino issue I swap them both and move along with the printing :D

Which fans specifically do you need help with?
The only fan controlled by the software is the parts cooling fan and it has a specific landing point, the others are all on full-speed all the time and can be wired directly to the 12v. Did you look at the Standard Ramps conversion thread?

Yes indeed, that is a bog-standard RAMPS 1.4 :) @Geof has you covered with the conversion thread.
Any questions -- post and let us know.

ok, i got a new Arduino and plugged in the components EXACTLY as i was supposed to into the RAMPS 1.4 and it went horribly...
I'm currently looking at one of the transistors that literally DESOLIDERD ITSELF from the ramps board. as well as burning my fingers on the Arduino. it was challenging to give this update to say the least.

Well either something was shorted to ground accidentally or it was a bad board from the start.
It is very (no -- VERY) easy to misland a jumper particularly if you convert from the Robo Ramps to the standard RAMPS because not all of the spots to land the wires are identical.

I have done it myself and jumpered one of the endstops from VCC to GND by not paying attention to which two of the three terminal the connector was supposed to be on :(

I understand polarity matters for mains power but does it matter what wire is paired with what

its very difficult to tell with connections on boards with photos. If your certain everything was right I'd imagine your new board needs returned.

Been there...but they all break and cause frustration. :D

I'm not a fan of their power and ground connector (green molex) drawing. Not that it matters but why confuse things by having power and ground next to eachother in the male connector when they are not in the female connector lol. Have you follow the R1+ to standard ramps conversion thread? That is known to work (and been used by many). It takes you step by step through the process with photos (as best I could).

if you think so you can leave it unhooked and see what happens. Its very hard to speculate as there are so many small connections. I'd suggest going slow. one thing at a time and seeing if a new board pops. Do them one connector at a time. With power off. Power on to see if it holds.
