Is tough PLA worth the extra expense for less brittle parts? Anyone have experience with it using with the R2??

no experience with it, but the claims of tough vs other easy to use filaments that are just naturally stronger has never made sense to me. What are you trying to accomplish with "tough PLA". Maybe we can direct you towards a filament we have tried.

SemiFlex (now called Cheeta) or a nylon :) Alloy910 has a bit of give without being rubbery too.

not ninja flex. Colorfabb NGEN Flex. :D very stiff when printed normally but has some give to it.

solid suggestion. Always forget about nylon being a bit flexible (AND SO EASY TO PRINT WITH!)
