Okay, I measured the output with a voltmeter and it was a puny 20v. So I tried looking for the potentiometer and couldn't seem to find it. So I took a photo of the inside of the power supply.

Ah, because of the way you said "you can almost see it" I assumed you meant some other component. My mistake! I'll give that sucker a twist when I get home!

VR1 is it. You said that it registered 20 volts. That's very high for a 12 volt power supply.

I think he is doing 24v?

EDIT: no -- 12v it should be.. Way high :)

He said that it was a new power supply. Maybe he bought a 24v instead of a 12v?

Don't touch the voltage adjustment. You might fry everything in the machine.

I'll be honest, I don't think I was using the voltmeter properly the first time around. Here's a new reading. Is this correct?

It's set to 12 volts, and the needle is pointing to 12 volts so it's correct. A digital multimeter will tell you if it's 12 volts or 12.4 volts although you could see that the needle is a little over the 12 volt scale in the photo.

Put it on the 60 range and be sure that it is not a lot higher than 12 (it may be 13-14vdc -- that is normal)

Check the voltage with everything off then again with the hot end & bed heater on to compare readings.

Okay, since the power supply is working fine now, I decided to hook up the new board.

The only problem is that the new board is a little bit different from the stock board, so I'm not sure where to plug the fan and LED cables. I also opted to plug in the screen that came with it.

However, when I plug in the power and turn it on, nothing happens. The LED on the PSU is lit, and the fuses on the board start getting warm, but it seems like nothing is working.

Have I messed up anything in the wiring?

No, the firmware goes into the Arduino -- did you have the firmware for the LCD before this?

I did not. I did keep the stock arduino when I put in the new board.

You likely have the full graphics lcd. You’ll need to modify the firmware and upload (flash) to your board.
