    Hey guys,

So I'm getting my R1 back together and it has every upgrade the R1 had added except for the LEDs and it has the switch auto level half installed (vs the old manual leveling). Should I even bother finishing the auto level install if I plan on adding an IR sensor?

Bump. If I did install the dual switch-based leveling, how does that work in conjunction with the IR sensor? Or does it? My basic amount of knowledge is leaning me towards not installing it and roughly manually leveling the bed. Then the IR sensor will create an accurate mesh and bingo.

The IR sensor normally is used to replace the switches as far as a leveling sensor is concerned.
If you are going to use the IR then your idea of manual leveling first is a really smart one. Don't bother with the switches if that is not your end-state.
